Soul Shifts – How’s your cosmic alarm clock?

September 11, 2015

“He who knows others is wise, but he who knows himself is enlightened. He who overcomes others is strong, but he who overcomes himself is mightier still.” ~ Lao-tzu

Soul ShiftsImagine with me, as Dr. Barbara De Angelis, author of a new book, Soul Shifts – Transformative Wisdom for Creating a Life of Authentic Awakening, Emotional Freedom, and Practical Spirituality, says, “… notice when something you’re reading stirs an emotion in you, or creates a sense of expansion, excitement, or even agitation …;” or “… recognize that the kinds of questions you’ve been contemplating have changed …;” or “… are you paying attention to the alarm going off …”

About that alarm — De Angelis asks, “Has your cosmic alarm clock been going off?” .

Ancient Hindu philosophy from the 9th century describes this cosmic alarm clock as being a profound soul moment called “thoughts of awakening.”

My cosmic alarm clock went off when I began this blog more than four years ago. The alarm was loud and my soul shifted to “thoughts of awakening,” as De Angelis spells out so gracefully and lovingly in her new book, Soul Shifts.

Now imagine this loud, annoying, gut-wrenching alarm going off and you are unable to turn it off until you hear, feel, know, understand and experience this soul moment during your challenges, illnesses, losses, love or many other situations that catapult you to admit your own cosmic alarm clock is going off.

I recognized this ongoing shift after reading this deeply, thought-provoking book about soul awakening as I kept internalizing, “… yes, yes, I see what’s been happening to me!”

I’ve recently gone through many of these profound soul shift moments through recent family deaths, spiritual challenges and a growing appreciation for silence.

I’ve returned day-by-day, moment-by-moment, page-by-page reading Soul Shift advice and doing the exercises De Angelis provides in this moving book that provides example after example of budding and awakening moments that you and I will recognize, but we haven’t given them any thought, attention or developed a disciplined routine.

De Angelis will awaken you to things like:
–    Blessings or burdens
–    Why being a spiritual collector is misguided
–    How to shift from the inside out
–    Stop the game of emotional “Whac-a-Mole”
–    Spiritual physics 101
–    Evoke the kind of vibration you want to send out
–    How to stop your vibrational wrestling matches

Soul Shifts is filled with insight, personal exercises, Bible verses, quotes, mantras and powerful soul created prayers that help you open to your cosmic alarm clock.

My rating of this book is off the charts. It’s definitely one to own. I love this book so much that I have a hardcover and an e-book.

Journey to the center of the soul – Find your spirit within

September 8, 2014

“You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.” ~ C.S. Lewis

It’s no secret that James Van Praagh is a maverick in the field of mediumship — connecting us with loved ones who’ve crossed over.

Adventures of the SoulVan Praagh has written a seriously contemplative book called, Adventures of the Soul: Journeys Through the Physical and Spiritual Dimensions.

He doesn’t make this stuff up; it was a gift he was given.

His life’s work is to help others seek spiritual knowledge within themselves, and by doing so, he makes our physical lives more meaningful.

Van Praagh says that if we understand more about transitioning out of this life into the next, it all becomes easier to accept death.

A lot of what Van Praagh shares in this latest book is validated by tons of research done on near death experiences, deathbed visions, after death communication and all things of spirit.

The book, Adventures of the Soul, gets to the nitty-gritty of how we need to journey to the center of our soul to find our true soul purpose in this lifetime.

This spirit filled book invites us to reflect on our current soul’s path. Van Praagh shares that if we are closed-minded, intolerant of others, unloving, hateful or judgmental, that’s probably what we’ll face about ourselves when we pass into the world of spirit.

An eye-opener I had never given much thought to was when Van Praagh speaks about the spirit side of life. He says there is a telepathic “knowing” of our upcoming return.

This book is full of great end of life stories and the experiences Van Praagh continues to have today sharing spirit messages with those long gone.

When I face those pearly gates and reach out to those who’ve gone before me, I’ll have Van Praagh to thank for nudging me a little bit closer to finding my own spirit within.

Re-Membering Your Soul’s Knowledge – Stop Getting to Where you are Going the Long Way

November 14, 2012

“Know who you really are – and that all those whose lives you touch might know who they are as well, by the light of your example.”

So says Neale Donald Walsch, author of The Only Thing That Matters.

Walsch gave me a “get out of prison” pass.  The pass provided me the ability to learn how to bypass my pain and suffering.  It’s a pass that can stop the unending supply of negative energy in life.  It’s all about re-membering (Walsch’s play on words) my mind to my soul’s knowledge.

What I’ve learned from The Only Thing That Matters is that re-membering my soul’s knowledge is easier than I thought.

By re-membering (reconnecting) my body and mind to my soul with tools he provides, I can tap into solving problems that my soul has already solved for me.  It’s a matter of bringing forth and remembering my soul’s knowledge.

This was a remarkable book reminding me that my soul has a path and a journey.  The only problem I’m having with following my path is that I keep taking another route.  My route is always a harder one because I keep deviating from the path my soul already knows.

Walsch explains that everything happening to me right now is to give me the opportunity to connect with my soul’s agenda.  His tools are to free me from suffering, anger, resentment, self-blame, lack of self-worth, hurt and even injury.

An eye-opener was when Walsch asked me to agree that anger, hatred, and violence are a distorted form of love?  It was an “aha” moment for me; one that Walsch spends a great deal of time explaining so eloquently in this book.

He explains that this distortion disrupts our ability to connect our body, mind and soul and, therefore, takes us off course.

When the choice in life is to make a living or make a life, Walsch proves there is only one answer; it’s simple, yet very complex.  It will shock you into a full-blown consciousness you never thought possible.  It will get you going where you were always meant to go.

As always, I send you my blessings and wishes for a prosperous and abundant life!

Color My World – How Color Masked My Life

January 11, 2012

The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.
Marcus Aurelius

My world was colored.  It’s just like I took out a coloring book and painted the scenes of my life in different colors.  They were my colors.

One color I painted was brown for happiness.  I used the color brown in things like dresses, purses, books, houses . . . all things material.

Another color I chose to use way too much was black.  I wore black shirts, shoes, pants, coats and I drove black cars.

In my coloring book, I colored black anyone who offended, argued, disagreed, or dismissed me.

Little did I know that I projected this black color onto people and situations, while all the time it was deflecting back to me.

My color of the world backfired.  My fear, ego and inner conflict projected right back at me the color I so needed to banish.

These worn out colors take me back to my ho’oponopono training of taking 100% responsibility for creating my own conflict.  It’s about getting my ego, intellect and cellular memory out-of-the-way to color my world differently.  It’s about learning to zero out what isn’t for my highest good.

I’m now using the colors of the rainbows and chakras all aligned.  I’m becoming more perfectly grounded in a more colorful world.

I’ve set aside my old coloring book in favor of my new one.  Now when I color others, my mind, body and spirit pay attention to the colors I project and focus more on the colors:

  • Red & Orange, the colors of love and healing that ground and stabilize my body
  • Yellow, Green & Blue, the colors of cheerfulness, calming and peace that focus my mind
  • Indigo & Violet, the color of spirituality and the colors to expand my consciousness
  • White, the color for purity and kindness

For me it was helpful to read Jami Lyn’s book, Color Alchemy.  If you want to learn more about how colors affect us, CLICK HERE.

I will you all my rainbow colors and, as always, I send you my blessings and wishes for a more peaceful, prosperous and abundant 2012!

My Connection To Me – Medicine Body Training At The Shaman’s Touch

August 30, 2011

It’s not a delusional or an imaginary practice.  It’s about the energy and soul and spirit of an individual.  It is my mind/body medicine.  It’s shamanism.  That’s the most suitable introduction of what I experienced this past weekend in my Medicine Body training with shaman, Kenn Day, from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Kenn Day

It was a two-day workshop filled with love and peace for me, myself and I.  Sure, there were several other people in the workshop, but the practice focused on me and my ability to feel and sense the awareness of the light body energy surrounding me.

As the name so vividly portrays, medicine body was teaching me about the energy field surrounding my body that, when I am present and consciously aware, can help me see and sense the delicate outer expansion of myself.  Picture this:  it’s like looking in a mirror and seeing a reflection of myself as a soft, opaque body.

Once I reached the ability to sense my light body through deep meditation, I was able to tap into my conscious awareness that was unbound and fully expanded – at one with everything.  It was a merging with my higher self.  I felt like a small ball of light floating through the air and I was in an eternal state of bliss.

It is as simple as the notion of intention that I use in this practice that results in my ability to move into this state of bliss.  By holding the idea of intent, I learned to become very aware of the powerful energy emanating from my body and how the experience can help me create a new wholeness.

Kenn offered me a safe and sacred space to journey to the depths of my soul.  When I entered this sacred space, I was surrounded by the smell of incense and the peaceful sound of bare feet as they slid along the floorboards to a place upon a persian rug, and a cushion filled with buckwheat that was round and smushy.

Once I got settled, the training consisted of breath work, meditation, chakra balancing and introspection of self through a higher sense of conscious awareness.  It focuses on a little talked about area in my body called my dan-tien which is located at the center of the abdomen and the center of my chi, my life force.  (See my blog from April 6, 2011, HARA Technique for more information about the dan tien.)

Medicine Body Team

I’m continuing to get more grounded with each passing day as I reach into my toolkit of practices that work for me.  My self-transformation is coming along quite nicely, thank you.

I’ve found a great community of people who share the same transformation desires and the willingness to become seekers of soul work.

Now that I’ve found yet another practice that gets at the root of my emotional mind/body issues, it feels really good to find out more about who I am and what I am meant to be.

Until tomorrow, I send you my blessings and wishes for a prosperous and abundant day.

Mindfulness Meditation with Deepak Chopra – Master the Avenue to Self-Transformation

March 28, 2011

Hello from Avinger, Texas where I’m sitting smack dab in front of nature and mixing and mingling with the birds.  It is beautiful!

We are meditating again – my favorite subject.  It’s also my recommendation for our first step to self-transformation.

Last Thursday you heard a few videos from Deepak Chopra about consciousness and, he said, “Things come and go, but our soul is the ticket to everything we could ever desire.  Collectively we can manifest a totally different reality; a total deconstruction of the old paradigm and reconstruction of a new reality.”

So again today, I honor Deepak Chopra and my soul and yours with another “meditation to get further into the gap”.

Thank you to www.wilddivine.com for this inspirational meditation. See you tomorrow for even more meditation insights.

Debbie Ford – Surrendering To Your Soul

January 28, 2011

Get your ego out of your way and nurture your inner self. Today’s message is know thyself, love thyself and show up for your life.

I’d love to have you set aside 45 minutes of your time to listen to Debbie Ford, writer, speaker, coach and author of The Dark Side of the Light Chasers, Spiritual Divorce and The Secret of the Shadow. She co-authored The Shadow Effect with Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson. I read this book and it is awesome!  The book has reached millions and has a movie and online course that reveals why suppressed emotions and unresolved internal conflicts leads to behavior that continually unseats people and affects the lives of millions every year.   Resolving these conflicts is the only way that I see can sustain my wish for the law of attraction to work in my life.

Sit back, relax, take a deep breath and listen to Debbie –  CLICK HERE.

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you next week from sunny, sunny Florida.
