Kinslow_When Nothing Works Try Doing NothingA new book by Dr. Frank J. Kinslow, When Nothing Works Try Doing Nothing – How Learning to Let Go Will Get You Where You Want to Go is all about techniques and facts to help achieve stillness and pure awareness of nothing!

Yes, I said nothing.

Dr. Kinslow is an author, chiropractor, Doctor of clinical spiritual counseling and a teacher for the deaf.  He’s created a personal stillness technique called EuStillness.

I reviewed one of his books in 2013 called The Kinslow System. His new book is a follow-on to the stillness methods he taught then called EuFeeling.

Don’t let the names of his techniques scare you, they are simple focused methods of reaching stillness, similar to meditation, but with a different spin.

Here’s my take on this book. I’ll cut to the chase.

If you are a person who needs to know the facts, start at page one.

If you don’t need the introductory facts about why and how his methods work, go directly to page 33 through 34 and 41 through 45. Do not pass go, do not collect $200; here’s where you begin to find your “get out of jail free” card to start immediately using two of his 11 techniques.

Kinslow’s goal is for us to deepen our relationship with ourselves by practicing his techniques simply and explicitly spelled out chapter by chapter.

Kinslow’s claims that awareness of stillness between our activity allows us to see both sides of life more evenly. He claims that when we stop trying to fill the void with things and thoughts, it distracts us from reaching stillness.

EuStillness is like watching a beautiful sunset and knowing that this moment is filled with nothing but joy, peace and tranquility that we wish would never end. That’s the nothing he talks about.

Let me warn you now, on page 70 there is a secret scientific fact that really sent me into a tail-spin. It might send you into one too when you face the reality of the quantum physics facts that Kinslow reveals!

The best part of this book is his chapter wrap-up with one-liners he calls Main Points. This allows for a quick review of tips and techniques he explained in more detail in the chapter.

His eleven different techniques are a combination of science (quantum physics) mixed with mind/body/spirit exercises that lead us to become aware of the oneness of all things and the stillness that can change our lives.

It takes genuine effort and focus to practice his EuFeeling and EuStillness process, but nothing ventured, nothing gained!
