Know Thyself & Others – KnickKnacks, Plaques & Stacks

Do you want to get to know that special someone really well and see from their vantage point?  Walk into their special room, their cave.

The simple act of walking into their cave can give you a sense of a persons essence by the things that stare back at you.

Arch of an IcebergMy husband’s man cave is filled with knickknacks, plaques and stacks from all corners of the world.  He’s traveled a lot.

His special retreat is a source of comfort and peace for him as he surrounds himself in their loving presence.

His shelves are filled with many things oriental – gongs, Tibetan prayer wheels and flags; Chinese coins, opera masks and a swarm of nutcrackers staring solemnly through a shiny glass door.

My woman cave has a different look and feel.  It is filled with nature’s wonders and spiritual items.

My cave is filled with the sound of a waterfall splashing in the background and rocks from my travels to many cities, states and countries.

My Bible and crucifix are lying on a shelf.  I have crystals of all kinds strewn around the room; angel and archangel statues on ledges, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs and candles galore.

What you see is what you get.  You can’t change this part of a person – why would you try?

MP900321176I think of this quote from To Kill A Mockingbird when I walk into my husband’s man cave:

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view – until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”  Atticus Finch

Get to know someone a little bit better today without judging them.

Walk into their cave and find a new perspective from their side of life.

If you don’t like what you see, make a beeline for the door leaving your peace and love behind.

I send you my love, blessings and wishes for a prosperous and abundant life!
