Addicted To Plastic Surgery – Can Dr. Pratt Heal This Addiction Through Energy Psychology?

Even though this video may be a dated Larry King Live show, I feel it is very relevant today.

This is one of several videos I have presented this week from Dr. George Pratt, clinical psychologist from California who practices energy psychology by using EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as tapping.

My guess is that you don’t know what BDD is – you’re not alone, I didn’t either.  I may have a tinge of BDD, but not nearly serious enough to resort to an addiction to plastic surgery.

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental illness in which an individual has symptoms of a medical illness that can’t be fully explained.

Some people with BDD are preoccupied with an imagined physical defect (i.e., small breast) that others often cannot see.  BDD is similar to eating disorders in that both involve a concern with body image.

Just like the lady in this video, people with this disorder see themselves as “ugly”, and they often turn to plastic surgery to try to improve their appearance.

In using energy psychology, we are talking to our subconscious mind which runs nearly 95% of our lives and is the seat of a lot of our insecurities and setbacks in life.

As you listen to this video you will get another view from Dr. Pratt and how he believes his use of energy psychology can work at treating this patient and her addiction to plastic surgery.

What do you think about his analysis?  Do you think he can work simply and quickly with this patient to make the necessary changes to overcome BDD through the use of energy psychology?

Send me your feedback.  If you need to get more information about one of his techniques, check out my blog from April 8, 2011 and get more information on my article from Blogtalk Friday – A Week of Techniques – Technique #5 – Tapping (EFT).

I’ll see you tomorrow for Blogtalk Friday as I share more information about the use of energy psychology through tapping.

As always, I send you my blessings and wishes for a prosperous and abundant day.
